Launching a WordPress site with no coding skills- How I got featured after launch

I signed up for WordPress about 2 months ago, and pumped about tackling the challenges ahead of networking and building actual traffic to the site.

This past week I went officially live, andI have some quality feedback.

Most notably from Themify.me who offered to feature my site on their customer’s page.

I think I can slap that up as my biggest win to date, there is my first official backlink!

I would highly suggest for anyone who wants to build their own site to check out Themify.me easy drag n drop functionality.

It was super easy to make my initial vision come to life, and trust me I didn’t touch a line of code.

You can purchase their drag n drop builder for only $39 and also apply it to any WordPress theme, it’s awesome.

Starting out, the biggest thing I wanted to accomplish was presenting and launching my brand in a clean and professional way, and I think I did that.

So the site is live and looks nice and clean….check

Now I am certainly not expecting traffic to magically appear.

I know I have to work for it and that will encompass a variety of tactics and longer term strategies.

I have a solid base of industry contacts I will be networking with, and hoping these relationships will provide me with some added perspective of where I can add some real value.

I already have a few entrepreneur spotlights in the cue, so I look forward to featuring their stories of what drives them in their everyday pursuit in generating life changing income online.

I have also generated the first version of my lead magnets for new site visitors so keeping an eye on things there.

Having a ton of experience growing email lists going back to launching new web properties in my start up days,  I put together a 5 part series around creating auto-responders.

This is a huge topic people ask me about all the time on webinars, so this should prove to convert nicely over time.

I am looking at July as the first full month the site being live, so I should be able to obtain a baseline of where my starting point really is as far as page views, sessions, and unique visitors, etc.

Right now I am speaking to an empty room, so I need to invite people to the party!

Outside of that, I see success within July as pushing out my first few entrepreneur spotlight posts.

Getting into a nice rhythm with these will provide the site some real clout to new users and hopefully start to build some real value.

My high level strategy at this point is to simply network as much as I can and tap into my existing entrepreneur relationships.

While SEO and creating top ranked posts is a piece of the puzzle, joining other communities of bloggers and similar entrepreneurs is a huge aspect.

This is where “hustling” comes into play.

Reaching out to people I have already connected with in my career that I have warm relationships with.

These contacts will prove to open up other opportunities, invite feedback, and little by little tap into other networks while getting some link love and promotion along the way.

My initial vision of providing 5-7 questions that provide entrepreneurs another opportunity to tell their story has some great feedback.

Many contacts are jumping at the opportunity and have already provided me with their answers.

That is good news, because this is where the value will start to emerge on MPW.

July 2016 is right around the corner, and looking to see some nice “spikes” as I network more.
